MISERY INDEX - The Killing Gods

Since its inception in 2001, Misery Index has created an enviable catalogue, one that is amongst the strongest of contemporary extreme metal bands. Peaking with 2010's still monumental Heirs To Thievery, Misery Index perfected its grind-with-groove statement of intent, a mandate that allows for visceral effect at maximum velocity. The Killing Gods continues on this left hand path, but turns away from the slick production of Heirs To Thievery and 2008's Traitors in favor of a rawer sound more in line with '04's Dissent EP, which suits Misery Index just fine as reveling in the dirt is one of death-grind's most time honored attributes. Extreme music for extreme people still exists and one needs to go no further than 'The Harrowing' or 'Sentinels', two of Misery Index's strongest call to arms: when the revolution takes hold, these will be its anthems.
