PANTERA - 3 Vulgar Videos From Hell

The big selling feature here is that this is a re-release of all of Pantera’s home vids on one double-DVD set, featuring chapter selection for the first time, as well as 5.1 surround sound. So now we can skip from one section of ludicrous backstage partying to another, just like that. But this is, I believe, the only band to ever put out a home video with ‘zany’ backstage footage worth watching. Hilarious stuff. And the tunes, videos, live footage… it all rocks, of course. So featured here is all their home video releases, with no bonuses and crappy bootleg-quality menus. Where’s the love? Not here, not on the track listing, which includes “This Is Me” on here (not a song, don’t get excited; just a glaring error, does no one proofread these things?). But despite the obviously rushed construction of the thing, the cover looks nice and the footage is classic. Again, the only band where I will sit, as an adult, and watch footage of them being goofy. The Cowboys From Hell home vid is short and endearing, Vulgar Video is a classic, and Watch It Go was kinda more of the same, although footage of this band at their prime is more than welcome. Also included is the band’s material from the For Those About To Rock: Monsters In Moscow home video, playing in front of an unbelievably huge audience. Lots of fun stuff to chew on here, but it would have been really nice to see some unreleased footage tacked on as well.
