THINE EYES BLEED - Thine Eyes Bleed

People were kind of on the fence when Thine Eyes Bleed was gaining some buzz in 2005/2006, and the main dilemma seemed to be swirl around this London, Ontario band’s rare metalcore moments, despite the fact that the record in question, In The Wake Of Separation, was for the most part just pretty cool thrash. Well, no need to worry about that kind of stuff anymore, as any last vestiges of metalcore have been entirely eliminated on the group’s latest, self-titled album. And let me tell ya, this is one scrappy record: the production is coolly lo(wer)-fi, the songs are undoubtedly angry and the album unquestionably brims with a renewed sense of purpose and principle. The touring with Slayer on 2006’s Unholy Alliance has seemingly paid dividends for Thine Eyes Bleed’s sound, as the tracks found here are immediate and direct, with no room for any semblance of messing around. An impressive leap forward for Thine Eyes Bleed.
