Blaze Bayley discussed being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame with Iron Maiden on Sportzwire Radio.

Bayley fronted the legendary band from 1994-1999, appearing on two albums – 1995’s The X Factor and 1998’s Virtual XI.

When asked on his feelings being inducted, Bayley responded: “ Well, I don’t think any of us get into heavy metal and follow it as a profession to get awards, but it’s nice to be recognized… And the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame — Led Zeppelin, I mean, giant of giants, almost so big that they can’t be considered as part of normal music. And to be part of that and all the other wonderful artists, to be considered there with the work that I’ve done and the songs that I’ve written and the music that we’ve done, it’s just incredible, really.”

“What’s interesting, whereas I might go, ‘Well, I’m not in it for awards,’ for a lot of my fans, it’s important for them. For a lot of my fans, it’s important. They think, ‘Yes, he should be recognized.’ And so that’s really, really cool, that my fans enjoy the fact that their favorite singer has been recognized by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.”

Inductees for the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include metal legends, Iron Maiden. As previously reported, the current Maiden lineup will not be on hand for the induction ceremony on November 14 in Los Angels. Therefore, the band’s forthcoming tour of Australia won’t be impacted by the induction, Billboard exclusively confirmed.

“As the most observant have already noticed, the band will be on tour in Australia around the November date of the Induction ceremony for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles,” Iron Maiden manager, Rod Smallwood, explained in an email to Billboard. “In accepting, Iron Maiden made it very clear to the R&R HoF that the fans always come first and that the shows will of course go on.”

“We would like to assure all our fans in Australasia that the Australian and New Zealand dates will remain unaffected,” Smallwood adds, “and we look forward to bringing the Run For Your Lives Tour to them on the penultimate stop of our 50th anniversary celebrations.”
