Rockpages.gr recently conducted an interview with Jimi Peterik (Pride Of Lions, ex-Survivor), in which he revealed that an album with former Survivor members is planned!
Said Peterik: “(Serafino Perugino, Frontiers head) just asked me for another project where he wants to kind of get me back together with certain former members of Survivor and do a whole album of Survivor songs, which, it’s very interesting. I just got that note from Serafino.”
Rockpages.gr: Getting back with former members of Survivor for an album…You know, of course, that I have to ask more about it.
Jim Peterik (laughs): “Well, I can’t give you that because I don’t have a concrete answer yet. I haven’t even called them yet. But it’s on the back burner. It’s going to happen.”
He also praised Jimi Jamison, as the best singer he worked with and stressed out that Tobby Hitchcock is worthy to follow his legacy… “When Jimi Jamison passed away, I never thought I’d be able to be inspired by a voice again. I mean, no one can touch Jimi. I mean, he was the best singer I’ve ever worked with. But Toby came along and he filled that gap. You know, the guy can reach any note that I write. And you know me, I love those soaring high melodies.”

Pride Of Lions, led by Jim Peterik and Toby Hitchcock, recently shared the new single “Edge Of Forever,” taken from their upcoming new album, Unbridled, set for release on July 10 via Frontiers Music Srl. Produced by Jim Peterik and mixed by Larry Millas, Unbridled marks the eighth studio album from Pride Of Lions. “Edge Of Forever” arrives alongside an official visualizer, available below.
On the new track, Jim Peterik shared: “The song ‘Edge Of Forever’ is one of my favorite tracks from our latest Pride Of Lions album – Unbridled. But to be honest, I wasn’t sure how are fans would respond to it. It breaks with our tradition of songs of positivity and light and replacing it with with the feeling that the world situation seems to keep getting more and more unsettled posing the question ‘Are we standing at the edge of forever?’ Toby and I offer hope of course for a better world by joining hand and coming together. Peace.”

With Unbridled, legendary AOR torchbearers Pride Of Lions return with their eighth studio album, a commanding statement from one of melodic rock’s most enduring acts. Since their formation in 2003 by Jim Peterik — the songwriting force behind anthems like “Eye Of The Tiger” and “The Search Is Over” — and powerhouse vocalist Toby Hitchcock, Pride Of Lions have been celebrated for fusing classic melodic sensibilities with modern rock energy. Over two decades later, they remain at the forefront of the genre, consistently delivering songs that resonate with depth, emotion, and unforgettable hooks.
Unbridled is a 12-track journey that showcases the band’s remarkable craft. Every element of the lineup shines: Ed Breckenfeld’s driving drums and percussion lay a solid foundation; Mike Aquino’s lead and acoustic guitars deliver both fire and finesse; Bob Lizik’s bass anchors each arrangement with strength and groove; and Jim Peterik’s keyboards and secondary guitar add lush melodic layers. The signature dual vocal performances from Peterik and Hitchcock — alternately commanding, expressive, and harmonically rich — elevate the songs to new heights.
The album is mixed by longtime collaborator Larry Millas, whose work brings clarity, depth, and punch to every track. Standout singles like the title track “Unbridled” — with its striking guitar intro and immediate melodic hook — and “Edge Of Forever” underline the band’s ability to craft timeless rock songs that feel both classic and contemporary.
Through Unbridled, Pride Of Lions reaffirm their status as masters of melodic rock and AOR. It’s an album that will satisfy longtime fans while serving as a powerful introduction for new listeners, showcasing a band that continues to evolve without ever losing its core identity.
