Stryper frontman Michael Sweet has shared the following message with the fans:
“I was watching some Zakk Wylde videos a few days ago and reminiscing about the time that Stryper played with Pantera in Mexico a few years back. I know Zakk get props and they are always well deserved, but I wanted to post my thoughts on his playing.
There are a handful of guitarists who really have a signature tone and style. Zakk is one of them. The instant you hear him play, you know who it is. He plays with a fire and an energy that few possess. Obviously, EVH had that same ‘gift’, as well as George Lynch – a certain level of intensity in the delivery, vibrato, picking attack and overall feel.
A true guitar ‘hero’, and from what Iโve heard (Iโve never actually spoken to Zakk), a true gentleman. One of my personal favorites.
Much love & respect.”
Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne) is featured in a recent interview with the Garza Podcast, hosted by Suicide Silence guitarist Chris Garza.
In the clip below, Zakk talks about writing “Miracle Man” for the first album he recorded with Ozzy Osbourne, No Rest For The Wicked, released in 1988:
BraveWords Records releases PRIOR CONVICTIONS the new album by Alcatrazz.
Our friends at Roppongi Rockโฆ โPrior Convictionsโ bridges Alcatrazzโs past and future. Of the eleven tracks on the album, two are brand new songs. โTransylvanian Requiemโ is an instrumental piece showing off Joe Stumpโs guitar wizardry, while โStand and Wait Your Turnโ is an excellent rocker of a song.
These two new songs raise my expectations for the next studio album of new material.
