Bang Your Head Festival - Day 3: NWOBHM & Corpsepaint, in Germany!

Another day (albeit the over-all-too-quickly finale) with a wide variety of sights and sounds. Early on, after Evertale opened the day, Germany was transported back to ‘80s England, as Cloven Hoof, Tygers Of Pan Tang and Girlschool performed, in succession! Even in blazing sunlight, Primordial delivered a cold/dark vibe. The string bending wizardry of Loudness master Akira Takashi is always welcome, along with a trove of old school favorites.
Pretty Maids are no strangers to Balingen, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Future World, by playing it in its entirety (plus a few additional requisite pieces). The grand finale was Powerwolf, who some said were not a legitimate headliner. Not only did they pack the grounds, like days of yore, but showcased a flame laden visual spectacle that has to be seen to be believed. Every bit what headlining status warrants.
