It’s festival season which mean lots of sweat, interesting people watching, beer, food trucks walking and badass music.  Now times that by three for the three-day weekend of Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion.  The weekend featured over 60 bands on four stages with 12 hours of televised performances and interviews on AXS TV hosted NY SiriusXM’s Jose Mangin.  The festival, in its 6th year, set a record breaking 90,000+ in attendance.  Thank God for media parking!

This year we had our faces ripped off by some of biggest names in rock and metal and some up and comers as well like Scorpions feat. Mikkey Dee, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Deftones, A Day To Remember, 3 Doors Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Cypress Hill, Pennywise, Lamb Of God, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Alice Cooper, Megadeth,  Anthrax, Saint Asonia, Sevendust, Hands Like Houses, August Burns Red, Clutch….and many more.

If you got hungry, fans had better options than they typical hospital food you’re used to at these events.  This year we had Gourmet Man Food at the Pig Out Village.  Also available other than food, beer and music were the opportunities for meet & greets at various tents throughout the area as well as a chance to shred on new music gear yourself at the Music Experience tent.

Overall it was a great experience for young and old music fan alike and I definitely plan to go back next year as it will probably take that long for my feet to heal from all the walking.  Note to self:  Stop wearing vans to all day…err…weekend festivals!
