MEGADETH bassist James Lomenzo has checked in with the following update:

"Just recovering from a weekend of unyielding bass shredding at Bass Player Live in Hollywood.

What a trip, I can't believe how many talented bassists there are out there. I saw preteens ripping it up, seasoned pro's putting it across and some of my own personal hero's hanging out and taking it all in. Speaking of heroes, I had the pleasure of meeting someone whom I'm sure you guys would all be interested in, Mr. Dave Ellefson himself! It was really great to chat with someone who's legacy I have had the great honor to carry through for Megadeth. What a treat to find out what a down to earth guy he is and, how Ironic to meet him in the very same place where I had my first rehearsals with Megadeth (S.I.R. Studios Hollywood) round about 3 years ago, Lord knows, I could have really used his help back then. Good fella and a class act!

So, back to BP Live...Through out the two day event, I got to demo my signature Ashdown Hyperdrive Distortion Pedal to quite a few bassists. It was great to see the consensus of those who played through it was a "thumbs up / gotta have one"!

I want to take a moment to thank Mark Gooday from Ashdown Engineering ("Amp-smith" extraordinaire) for taking such good care of me and, the great Marco Mendoza for keeping things upbeat and musically inspiring. You lucky U.K. Fans are really going to dig seeing this great bassist jam some Megadeth music with Dave (Mustaine) and Shawn (DRover) later this week at Guitarfest.

As far as Vics Garage is going, we're at cruising speed. I'm just finishing with the installation of our video production suite. On the Mega-music side we've been exploring and cataloging riffs for the up and coming album and we're all pretty charged about it."
