MEGADETH's DAVE MUSTAINE has issued the following update:

"Droogies!

I can't sleep again, so I thought I would just take some time to update you. Yesterday after a long and traffic filled day of driving up to Encino to our wonderful Business Managers' office where we had our quarterly strategy and review meeting, and I am so excited about all of the things that we are doing right now.

As the sun creeps around this morning, I am thinking of the four songs that we started and are kinda up to so far. The good thing is that James (LoMenzo) and Shawn (Drover) put down two songs that I had ideas for, which was really gratifying to come back to, and it almost sounded as good as if I played it myself, since Shawn is convinced he is the fastest guitar player in the world.

It was really awesome to hear James lay down some new bass lines, and the kewl thing was that, like I mentioned, they did these two ideas while I was gone with Andy (Sneap)'s help, and I was pleasantly surprised when hearing it back. We have a long way to go, and eight more songs to write. I do have a plethora of lyrics so that part will not take long.

My new partner, Chris Broderick was at the studio yesterday too. I like when he makes the commute from LA down to San Diego, because he is so talented and has a vast, wealth of knowledge, and I get happy when we can work on songs together. Today, I have frikken jury duty, and as much as I don't wanna go, I am gonna show up because "I go to court when I have to."

I was noticing again yesterday all of the hard work put in by Andy, Shawn, and James. Of course there was a huge cast of players that have helped in the actual making of 'Vic's garage.' I imagine after time, it will just be called 'Vic's' or something shorter, but for now, it is what it is.

We have had so many friends, endorsers, private third party business agreements (one of our best new friends and MAJOR contributor Kent Gray and LamVin), donations, and volunteers come to the studio, and come through for the studio. I am so impressed that we were able to do the two successful projects already now too. This week promises to be an event filled week.

Now that Brandon and Elvis have finished the kitchen, the back bathroom is next. We were able to extend the Drum Room area, but the drum sound is already massive. This is going to afford us the luxury of having our own sound stage for pre-production, and that will mean a better show for the songs, and it also means a better rehearsal for the guys that like that stuff.

Thursday will be a busy day in the studio, we have mark Adelman coming down with Kelly from FEA, whom I really dug when we met before we were forced to go somewhere else a few years ago. This is going to be great!

Mark is also introducing me to a local artist that is from Carlsbad, and he is also trying to arrange a meeting with the folks from Rick Dees radio (remember I told you I had something in the works on this?), and last, but not least with Scott Holmen and the exciting new Live Line that is launching soon. I am actually more curious about Pam's company, than I am about me and Megs because I know what is business as usual with me, but it is all unpredictable and fun for her!

I am looking forward to seeing the new Bond flik. I was telling my biz mgrs yesterday that I would like to have Daniel Craig play me in the movie of my life as Dave Mustaine, of course he would need contact lenses. I used to think Gary Oldman was good, but now it's a toss-up between these two greats.

I am going to try to go back to sleep.

Good whatever it is right now

Dave Mustaine"
