Myrtlebeachonline.com is reporting:

A company interested in running Hard Rock Park had a conference call with city and county officials, asking them to help work out a deal to save the property, officials said.

The company, PARC Management, told the public officials that there were no bidders with enough money for the $400 million theme park, which filed for bankruptcy in September and went to auction on Monday.

PARC, which did not submit an official bid, asked the city and county to each chip in $5 million to put together financing, Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes said.

“There’s no way that can be done,” he said. “We just told them, ‘Sorry.’ We don’t have that kind of funds to commit to something that is - it’s a big gamble.”

Horry County Attorney John Weaver said it would cost more money to dismantle and move the rock 'n' roll park’s rides to another location than it would be worth.
