VILE To Begin Recording January 25th

hot flashes news vile

Concord, California-based metallers VILE check in with the following update from guitarist/founding member Colin Davis:

"Good news in the Vile camp. We will begin recording for the upcoming album January 25th. We begin with drums. Tyson Jupin, our long time studio drummer will be at my Imperial Mastering studio for eight days.

Still no final word on how the album will be released or by whom, but at this point it really doesn’t matter. One way or the other, we will release this music to the people and an official website to support the album and make downloads and new merch available will be up and running when it is time. Summer ’09 is the general time frame.

Another possibly interesting bit of news is that I will make an effort to document the recording process on video tape this time so aspiring recording engineers can glean what bits of technique and general knowledge they can from it to help them in their efforts. The production quality and techniques will also be more advanced this time and the recording quality will exceed what we have done in the past.

I’m really looking forward to giving birth to this baby... it's been gestating for over three years and its about time to drop this sucker! As I have said before, this album is going to be very fresh and also quite daring in many ways. There is a wide variety of stylistic modes on this one and my goal was to make an album with different moods or vibes. Human life is not all about one mood or one way of being. And so why should our music be so one-dimensional? You want heavy? You’re going to get it... but you are going to get it in a way that makes you think and feel a little more broadly than you did with past releases. Also I hope to be able to deliver you some lyrical content that actually means something important and beautiful artwork that complements it as well.

Once again, I have to greatly thank our fans and friends for appreciating all that goes into these releases and being patient and supportive!

I’ll be in touch! Cheers!"
