Lots of news for you this time around. For all of you in Australia, your patience has been rewarded! And for those in the USA, there maybe only one more date forthcoming for this first run of shows in 2009. Maybe later in the year for some more. As and when things are confirmed, we'll let you know.

Australia Live In '09:

Live In Bulgaria 2009:

Glenn is very happy to confirm that he has been invited back to Kavarna, Bulgaria by his good friend Tsonko Tsonev, the Mayor of Kavarna, to perform a special free concert on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009. This is also the Bulgarian National holiday of St. George's Day.

The concert will take place in the evening at Dobrotitsa Square (Main Central Square).

This promises to be a very special show as part one of the set will be a unique and first time performance by Glenn of the entire Burn album in original album running order!!

Glenn has also been asked to officially open the national Bulgarian Marathon race which will take place in Kavarna on Saturday, May 9th. In previous years, the race was held in Sofia, and this will be the first year that the race will be held in Kavarna. The race will feature athletes from across the world taking part. Glenn and the band will not be amongst them!

Glenn is also scheduled to perform another free open air concert in Bulgaria, in Kyustendil. The Mayor of Kyustendil, Mr Petar Paunov, has personally invited Glenn to play for the people in his municipality.

This will take place on Sunday, May 10th, 2009, at the Central Square Velbajd and start time will be around 8 PM.

Live In Belgrade, Serbia:

Glenn is very happy to announce that he is to perform with his band in Belgrade, Serbia on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009.

The venue is: Dom Omladine Beograd (Belgrade's Youth Centre).

Tickets should be on sale in early February from eventim-yu.com and from the venue ticket office.

Incidentally, this will be Glenn's first concert in Belgrade since March 1975, when he last played there with Deep Purple during the final tour that MKIII did with Ritchie Blackmore.

MONKEY BUSINESS Video Shoot:

The new Monkey Business album gets released later this month. Glenn will be featured on it. It's titled, Twilight Of Jesters. More info here.

In a couple of weeks time, Monkey Business will be in Los Angeles with Glenn and they will film the second video for the song 'Gumball', which of course features Glenn, along with one other song, 'The History Of Pathos'.

Says Glenn, "It's far and wide the best band! It fits perfectly with what I want to do, Glenn Hughes with funk and rock. I got lucky enough that I can sing funk, rock, jazz, soul and rhythm and blues and this team allows me to do just that."

Meantime, the first video, for the song 'Who Killed My Libido?', parts of which were filmed at the recent gig back in December, when coincidentally, Glenn appeared live with the band in Prague, Czech Republic, can be seen below...

Glenn Guests On New PUSHKING CD:

One of Russia's most popular metal/rock bands, PushKing has released over 15 albums. The band's new CD, PushKing - Duets, will contain 19 songs covering Pushking's entire discography since 1996 and featuring contributions from some of "the greatest vocalists and musicians" from the world rock scene.

Glenn recently completed a session for inclusion on this up and coming project, which also features many other star musicians.

PAUL STANLEY, ALICE COOPER, GRAHAM BONNET, JOE LYNN TURNER and IAN GILLAN are among the guest musicians who will appear on the forthcoming album from Russian rockers PushKing, to be released before the end of the year.

The album's producer, Fabrizio Grossi, stated about the project, "I was intrigued by the level of their musicianship and the very open approach they have to their music. Their music includes all the great ingredients of my favorite '70s bands, with Queen, Zeppelin and Purple on top of it. The record it's going to be a concept album and along with the band, there will be lots of great guest stars."

Italy With MOONSTONE PROJECT:

A new date in Italy with Glenn as a guest of Matteo Fillipini and Moonstone Project has been confirmed for March 10th, 2009. The venue is the Black Horse in the city of Cermenate (CO), Italy. More info here.

Another is also confirmed with Glenn joining his good friends, Moonstone Project, for a Purple MKIII/IV set: July 18th at Parco Comunale in Taino (VA), Italy.

USA Live Band Lineup Confirmed:

The band members for the upcoming dates in the USA are: Glenn Hughes: Vocals/Bass, Jeff Kollman: Guitars, Ed Roth: Keys, Steve Stephens: Drums.

Also, tickets for the gig at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angels on April 4th, are now available for purchase online via Ticketmaster.

Norway With COME TASTE THE BAND:++

Glenn will be appearing in Norway in July '09 as a guest of his good friends Come Taste The Band. The shows will feature a full Deep Purple MK III/IV set.
