SUIDAKRA have checked in from their current North American tour alongside ALESTORM and TÝR. Check out the report below.

"So, time for some more stories from the road...

It has been some days since the last report and again it’s hard to remember what happened where and when, because actually it’s the same procedure every day: driving, arriving at the venue, load in, soundcheck, looking for a WiFi connection, playing the show, eat and drink, load out, driving to the next venue etc. In between we’re looking for a possibility to take a shower (thank god for a club that has a shower. Unfortunately it’s a rare thing here in the US) and a decent possibility to take a dump, because shitting on the tour bus toilet will result in a $500 fine, but that’s Rock ‘n roll and we like it! ;o)

Of course there are a lot of funny stories happening and I will try to remember some of them to share with you, even if I mix up some scenes (blame it on the alcohol consumption as well).

On our way to Tempe, AZ we had problems with the hydraulic system. In combination with the road conditions we felt like driving a low rider. It’s a funny feeling if you’re laying in your bunk, trying to sleep but every 5 seconds you’re being lifted up in the air, without any contact to the mattress and trying hard not to fall out. We had to get the problem fixed at a truck repair center (it took about 6 hours and garage was in the middle of nowhere in the desert) and made it to Tempe just 30 mins before our show started.

Next day, our driver Ringo said before entering the mountains: 'If you're stuck here you're completely fucked. But I've never had problems with my busses in the mountains." A few minutes later a tire explodes and starts to burn. Happy times! After a couple of hours a repair service came to change rim and tire. Arkadius proudly announced that he took a dump in the bushes in the meantime.

The last shows at the west coast have been a blast; I guess this is because we have been here last year with the Paganfest tour already and we met a lot of people again now. In Hollywood there were more than 400 people at the show while the show in San Francisco was sold out (I guess 250 people were there) and packed!

In Hollywood we had some free time and the other guys went to Kat von D.’s tattoo studio Startattooartists ('Wow, so many T’s' Lars stated) while I spent the day with a friend at Lucille’s Smokehouse (best BBQ ever) before we went to the beach, where I could put my feet into the Pacific Ocean.

Some random stuff::

-- Our guitar player Seeb is being called “the shitter”, as he does not leave out an occasion to use the toilet.
-- Tourmanager Cartel informed us that the bus will leave as soon as all personal stuff is on the bus. Arkadius: “Personal stuff?! Does he mean us with this?!”
-- Some guy on the street: 'So, what is your profession?' Lars: 'Robot.'
-- Tracey (or Travis?), promoter in Seattle, showed me a nice original poster: 'VENOM, special guest: METALLICA' Unfortunately it did not show the year of this concert. My guess would be it’s from 1984.

While I’m typing this we’re leaving the west coast going to Salt Lake City. It’s a ridiculous long ride (about 16 hrs) and if that would not be enough, we had to pass 2 snow storms this morning so again we’re late. But this won’t spoil the good mood we’re in. This tour is kickass so far and we’re looking forward for all the surprises to come!"
