Reformed UK thrash/doom/death metallers SEVENTH ANGEL have confirmed that they will enter the studio this Thursday (March 19th) to begin recording their forthcoming new album.

Bombworks Records recently announced the signing of Seventh Angel. A press release reads as follows:

A stalwart in the late '80's/early '90's UK thrash scene, Seventh Angel released several demos and supported them successfully on the live circuit. The last of these demos, Heed The Warning, was released to CD along with a collection of live tracks by Bombworks Records in 2005. The demos eventually led to the band receiving a label deal and subsequently releasing two full-length albums, thrash classic The Torment and the thrash / doom melding of Lament For The Weary. After the release of Lament... and some extensive touring in the UK as well as dates in The Netherlands and Germany, the band split and went their separate ways at the end of 1992.

Frontman Ian Arkley may be the most well-known member of the band, as he has hardly slowed down since his Seventh Angel days. He went on to found and front medieval death / doom act Ashen Mortality, who released two albums in the late 90's. He also was a part of Australian doom sensation PARAMAECIUM, playing guitar on their second-to-last album A Time To Mourn. After the demise of Ashen Mortality, Ian went on to start current Bombworks Records' band MY SILENT WAKE, who after recording a short-run two-song demo, went on to sign with the label and has now recorded three albums for the label, including the recently released A Garland Of Tears. He also joined forces with James Allin of VISIONAIRE/IKARIAN to record a gothic doom album under the moniker Century Sleeper, released on Bombworks Records in 2006. Members Simon Bibby and Mark Broomhead have also been involved since the demise of Seventh Angel in progressive hard rock band FIRE FLY and also spent time in band EXHORIA. Drummer Tank has played with bands SUKMUNKI and FREEKSPERT.

The line up of the newly reformed Seventh Angel consists of original members Ian Arkley on vocals / guitars, Simon Bibby on vocals / guitars, Andrew "Tank" Thompson on drums, and Mark Broomhead of DETRITUS fame on bass / vocals. Already with festival showings in The Netherlands and Norway over the past year, the band is ready to unleash a new set of crushing tunes on a new generation, showcasing the same classic thrash sound with a larger death and doom influence. Seventh Angel will be entering the studio in late March to record their first studio album since the release of Lament For The Weary and will be holding true to their doom-infused thrash metal sound. The title of the new full length will be The Dust Of Years and will be released summer of 2009 on Bombworks Records as a deluxe digipak. Artwork will be handled by Matt Vickerstaff of Darkwave Art (www.myspace.com/darkwaveart), who has also done artwork for the last releases from MY DYING BRIDE and MY SILENT WAKE, and he is currently doing artwork for upcoming Bombworks Records' releases from Lament and Bloodline Severed. The band will be recording with Greg Chandler at Priory Recording Studios (www.prioryrecordingstudios.com) in the UK.
