Bruce Smith from the Associated Press is reporting:

A federal bankruptcy judge on Monday refused to finalize the sale of Myrtle Beach's shuttered Hard Rock Park to new owners, ruling its founders retain some of the creative touches originally built into the theme park.

It was not immediately clear how the decision by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey in Delaware might affect the planned reopening of the park this spring, but a lawyer for the new owners told one newspaper the park would open on time.

Built for $400 million, the park is the single largest tourism investment in South Carolina history, opened last year featuring themed areas such as Born in the USA and Rock and Roll Heaven.

The park included a LED ZEPPELIN roller coaster throbbing 'Whole Lotta Love' and EAGLES' 'Life In The Fast Lane' roller coaster.

The 55-acre park closed in September when its owner, HRP Myrtle Beach Holdings, filed for bankruptcy protection. Carey approved the sale of the park last month for $25 million to investors who want to reopen it by the end of May.
