THE FIFTH / JAM PAIN SOCIETY and former WIDOW drummer Marc Anthony has just released his long awaited solo debut, ANGEL OF MERCY, The Shadow Side. A solid and well arranged offering of melodic rock similar to TNT, SHY, KISS (Creatures era) and HIM.
The Shadow Side is an ambitious concept album that encompasses 10 songs and stories of love, loss and the struggles of duality within one's self. Angel of Mercy is Marc Anthony.
“Making the album was a challenging yet rewarding experience," says Anthony. "The songs are intense because they are real. The Shadow Side is about love and loss and trying to find your way. It is about the internal battle of light and dark in all of us. When you capture that emotion in words and music… then you have something truly special. It is catchy, melodic rock with a dark and moody vibe. I put my heart and soul into these songs. This is the soundtrack of my life. But it is place where we have all been. Everyone who has loved and lost can relate to this story.”Written in its entirety by Marc Anthony and featuring special guest appearances from; Eric Aittala, Randall Rhodes, Joshua Pantke (Widow), Roy "Rory" Cathey of The Fifth / COLD SWEAT, who adds his vocal talents on 'Angel Heart' (electric version) and 'Too Far Away' and LiLi Padilla (formerly of Widow) who performs duet vocals with Marc Anthony on 'Picture (Crimson Night)'.
