BraveWords.com has received the following press release:

A WASTE OF TALENT, one of the projects of producer and CARPATHIAN FOREST bass player Vrangsinn (NATTEFROST, SECHT), is streaming 'Machines Kept Pumping Blood From Earth', a track from the band’s next album, on MySpace. The new album, to be called The Last Remains Of Humankind, will be a concept album set in a not too distant future where few humans remain alive. According to Vrangsinn, the album is “music to listen to while you wait for your own extinction.”

Formed in 1996 by Skaperen (vocals/bass) and Vrangsinn(guitars/backing vocals) AWOT released their first album, Psycodelic Steamtrain, on Vrangsinn's own label, Misantrof AntiRecords - the “non” record label where all the releases are available for free download. The Last Remains Of Humankind will also be released on Misantrof sometime in 2010.

The new album marks a change in direction for the extreme metal band, as Vrangsinn explains: “The idea behind making this a concept album allows us to experiment with a more futuristic sound, which is something we have been interested in doing since we wrote Machines Kept Pumping Blood From Earth, as well as being able to explore the inevitable self destruction of humanity in the lyrics themselves. But at the same time, the fact that it is a one-off concept doesn’t tie us down to any specific sound or genre forever.” Vrangsinn, who is currently in the studio producing the new Nattefrost album, will also produce The Last Remains Of Humankind.
