STREAM OF PASSION drummer Martijn Peters has checked in with a recap of the band's May 29th CD release party at Tivoli de Helling in Utrecht, Holland for their new album, The Flame Within:

"The past few days I spend checking my gear for defects and removing nasty stains on toms and cymbals. After checking everything at least five times I feel confident and started loading up the car Tetris style (imagine fitting a 7-piece drum kit and several spare parts inside a Fiat Punto). Ready to travel to the venue I grab my tomtom. Pressing the mount against the window resulted in a crack from left to right! Was this a bad omen?

Nevertheless the trip goes pretty smooth and I meet my fellow bandmates at the venue. Tivoli De Helling is a beautiful location and before we know it it is packed with curious fans ready to hear us perform songs from The Flame Within. To please them all we decided to play some golden oldies, stretching the playlist to 19 songs in total. The reactions are overwhelming! After a heartwarming meet & greet it is time to wrap it all up (Tetris part II). Later that night, sitting down on my couch I think to my self: 'Being a performing artist – especially being part of Stream of Passion – is a wonderful thing.'

According to a recent press release, "The Flame Within leaves its predecessor in the dust thanks to maturer songwriting that presents a further developed band able to give gothic metal a newfound profundity. Carried by Marcela Bovio's fantastic vocal lines, Stream of Passion delivers the entire spectrum of human emotions-at times dreamy and melancholic, at others uninhibited and forward pressing. In this way, heavy riffs merge with romantic undertones in majestic unity. Jens Bogren's (Fascination Street Studios) mastering work allows the tracks' subtle nuances to come into play.
