ProgPower Scandinavia 2009 is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark from September 24th - 26th.

Organizers have issued the following update:

It is with sad minds that we have to announce the cancellation of EYEFEAR's performance at this year's ProgPower Scandinavia. The band was set to play as the 3rd band on Saturday, September 26th at the festival. However, due to financial crisis, increase of travelling prices, lack of an otherwise-already-promised government funding and several other reasons, the band has to cancel for 2009. We, the ProgPower Scandinavia team have provided the band with a standing invitation to perform at next year's event, so we cross our fingers and hope that times will get better.

We're very proud to let you know that Danish power-thrash metal band MANTICORA will be stepping in to fill the empty 3rd slot on Saturday the 26th. Manticora just returned from a European tour with CIRCLE II CIRCLE, and have over the past 10 years delivered 6 high quality heavy metal albums, borderlining somewhere between classic thrash metal and a more modernized form of power metal. We know that the band has a lot of fans in Copenhagen already, and we're looking forward to letting the ProgPower Scandinavia audience get a good glimpse of this awesome band.

The festivaL will see 13 of the best international metal bands perform over 3 days. Headliners will be PRETTY MAIDS and CANDLEMASS, supported by such great bands as FREAK KITCHEN, MERCENARY, TEXTURES and 8 more.
