According to The Associated Press, JIMI HENDRIX' $1 performance contract is among nearly 500 personal celebrity items being auctioned. Gotta Have It!'s online auction ends August 5.

The items belong to 150 consigners including collectors. Gotta Have It! says the 1965 contract between Hendrix and PPX Enterprises is believed to be the late musician's first.

A lot write-up reads as follows:

"This is Jimi Hendrix's earliest known contract, dated October 15, 1965. The contract, typed on 8.5" x 11" PPX Enterprises, Inc letterhead, is between Hendrix and PPX, signed by Hendrix "Jimmy Hendrix" in blue ballpoint pen, and refers to Hendrix as "Jimmy" Hendrix throughout. The contract, for $1, was for Hendrix to play and/or sing exclusively for three years from the date of the contract. In addition to the $1 that was to be paid to Hendrix he would receive "one (1) percent of retail selling price of all records sold for his production efforts, minimum scale for arrangements he produces."

Comes with PPX Enterprises envelope as well as the black and white photograph featuring a very young Hendrix shown here. Very good condition. Estimate: $225,000 - $250,000.
