San Francisco Bay Area’s HATCHET will embark on its first U.S. tour this year beginning Friday, September 4 at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Denver’s Havok will accompany Hatchet on the tour, and the San Francisco show will feature Bay Area bands, BROCAS HELM and LACERATION.

The San Francisco show will be the first appearance with Eric (vocals) and Ryan King (bass). The six-week tour will cover all points of the US stopping October 16th in Berkeley at 924 Gilman. That show will feature WARBRINGER, WITCHHAVEN, NIHILIST, and a few added surprises. Of the tour's conclusion King said, "It should be a great show, and will be a nice welcome home after six weeks of sleeping on a van floor."

According to a press release, Hatchet was signed to Metalblade Records in October 2007 and released their début album, Awaiting Evil in spring 2008. Hatchet takes the roots of '80s thrash metal and combines it with their own distinct elements to present a sound that is fresh, yet familiar. Hatchet was quickly welcomed to a fastidious San Francisco metal scene and was one of the newer thrash acts key in resurrecting the scene- all but dead for more than a decade. To be sure, Hatchet leave a trail of unmistakable energy behind them upon the exit of each show that they perform which, invariably, has turned the head of fan and critic alike. Hatchet went on hiatus in Fall ‘08 while the band searched for a new vocalist and bassist, but are now back with some new and more mature material, sure to leave any fan headbanging for more. 'Signals of Infection', a new track from Hatchet is a great introduction to what is in store for the listener.
