Metal Blade Records has announced that death metal act THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER have cracked the top 50 in Billboard's Top 200 chart coming in at #43 with the release of Deflorate. The album dropped on September 15th in North American and sold over 12,000 units in just its first week of release making it the band's strongest first week to date.

In addition to hitting the #43 position in Billboard's Top 200 charts, the band came in at #5 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart, #4 on Billboard's Top Hard Music Albums chart, and #50 on HITS Top 50 Albums chart. The carnage doesn't stop here though as The Black Dahlia Murder's Deflorate also landed on Canada's Billboard Charts coming in at #52 in the Top 200 chart, #3 in the Top Independent Albums chart, and #6 in the Top Hard Music Albums chart.

"I'd like to say we are stoked that so many actually bought our new CD in a day and age when thievery is law. Thanks a lot everyone!!! We'll be on the road in North America for the next 7 weeks. Check out www.myspace.com/blackdahliamurder for dates" comments Brian Eschbach, guitarist and founding member of The Black Dahlia Murder.

Here's what vocalist and founding member Trevor Strnad had to say; "We want to thank everyone for coming together and supporting us. We put a lot of elbow grease into making this whole package the best we possibly could; it's meant as a gift to our fans. It's an exciting time for us in the band and we're going to bust our asses to see all of you on the road and deliver the goods. Stay metal and keep supporting the scene. THANKS!"

Still riding high on waves of acclaim for their rabidly-received DVD spectacle Majesty, The Black Dahlia Murder triumphantly brings you their fourth thrashing opus Deflorate. An epic expansion of the stunning pitch-black cacophony that was 2007's Nocturnal, Deflorate boasts Black Dahlia's brand of seamlessly-mixed Swedish influenced blackened thrash and pounding American death metal muscle, and sees one of metal's most outstanding underground outfits at the peak of its unmitigated musical brutality.
