Swedish progressive melodic death metallers SCAR SYMMETRY have issued the following update:

"Today we're happy to announce that we've landed ourselves a gig at the famous world's largest digital festival DreamHack. We can't wait to bring all you LAN-lovers a healthy dose of melodic death metal! After the show we'll stay off the booze and instead indulge in online gaming and Jolt cola! Be there or be a lame n00b!!!"

David Garpenståhl, Dreamhack CEO comments: "We are excited to have Scar Symmetry kicking ass at DreamHack, the largest digital festival in the world. More than 15,000 visitors will be able to enjoy Scar Symmetry on the main stage. DreamHack is all about digital stuff, music, games and movies. And we arrange some of the largest e-sport tournaments in the world, we show cool movies around the clock and we have some of the best and up and coming bands on stage."

Scar Symmetry continue, "The event is set to take place from November 26th – 29th, 2009 at DreamHack Winter, Elmia in Jonkoping, Sweden!We will perform on the mainstage, Thursday, November 26th at 9 PM!"

The festival holds the official world record as world's largest LAN party in the Guinness Book of Records. During 2008 DreamHack reached over 70,000 unique visitors with its activities around the Nordic countries. DreamHack holds several festivals each year, BYOC Qualifiers and expos. The Spring Season ends with the Season Finals at DreamHack Summer and the Fall Season ends with DreamHack Winter. All of DreamHack's festivals are open to all ages.

Scar Symmetry recently shot a video for the first single, 'Noumenon And Phenomenon', off their new album Dark Matter Dimensions, which is out today in Europe via Nuclear Blast Records.

The video, shot by LEGION OF THE DAMNED's very own Maurice Swinkels, will be made available online soon.

"We're pleased to announce that the video for the song 'Noumenon And Phenomenon', shot in early September this year, is coming together nicely. The director, Maurice Swinkels, is currently editing it and from what we've seen he's doing a damn fine job! We shot the video at two locations here in Sweden, the first one was basically a photo studio and the second location was... get ready now... an abandoned and haunted insane asylum!“ – Henrik Ohlsson

"Was great meeting up with the Scar Symmetry guys again since I produced their very first, one of the 'The Illusionist' videos as well. We had 2 locations, one was shot with greenscreen, one was an old mental hospital which was actually near the studio of Peter Tägtgren! Very cool!" – Maurice Swinkels

As previously reported, the band made Dark Matter Dimensions available for streaming online at their MySpace page.

Dark Matter Dimensions will be released on October 20th (North America) via Nuclear Blast Records.

The song 'Noumenon And Phenomenon' was released as digital download single on September 18th including 'Nonhuman Era'.
