Swedish Thrashers THE HAUNTED have confirmed they will still be the main support on SLAYER’s rescheduled UK dates.

Speaking about the dates, frontman Peter Dolving stated: “This is great beyond words. Since the very first The Haunted record we've enjoyed great support from Slayer and we've talked many times about how cool it would be to support our favorite band in the world. Slayer are without competition the one band that's inspired and motivated us over the years. In many ways Slayer personify the measure by which we live and act as a band, and to finally get to head out with these dudes is awesome, and fucking beautiful! This is going to be utter complete fucking mayhem!”

Slayer vocalist/bassist Tom Araya has been under the care of a specialist for a back injury, and while he has already made substantial improvement, he is continuing on with doctor-prescribed treatment, resulting in the dates being postponed.

"Right now," said Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, "our main concern must be the full and permanent recovery of Tom, so we have decided to clear the calendar and give him the extra time he needs to concentrate solely on good health."
