Newsplex.com is reporting:

Dan Harrington, the father of deceased Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, will speak at the annual University of Virginia/Charlottesville Take Back the Night Rally at Charlottesville’s Washington Park Thursday (April 8th) beginning at 5pm.

Dr. Harrington will discuss societal violence and the murder of his daughter, Morgan Harrington, at the hands of a killer who has not been brought to justice.

Morgan disappeared on October 17, 2009 outside a METALLICA concert at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. In January her body was found on a farm about 10 miles south of where she was last seen.

Dr. Harrington says the purpose of this rally and candlelight march is to bring the community together to protest violence against women and to promote awareness of attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors that perpetuate this violence.

This event raises awareness of violence against women, shares resources available locally, and gives individuals tools to help create positive change.
