Guitar Legend TONY IOMMI Backing Birmingham’s City Of Culture Bid

According to Birminghammail.net, BLACK SABBATH/HEAVEN & HELL guitarist Tony Iommi is backing Birmingham’s UK City Of Culture bid, which could be worth up to £800 million to the region’s economy in 2013.
Organisers now have until May 28 to submit their final bid, and an announcement is expected to be made in July. If successful, an extra four million visitors could flock to the Birmingham for a year-long programme of cultural events.
In 2008, Iommi was inaugurated into Birmingham’s Broad Street’s Walk Of Stars. “I just want to say that I’m proud to be a Brummie and I’m proud to say I’m from Birmingham," Iommi remarked. "Thanks very much for this and I’m going to put it in a good place. Really, thanks very much.”
