Singer Al Ravage from Boston-based metallers RAVAGE has issued the following road update:

“On Saturday night Ravage played in New Mexico for the first time ever at the second annual Thrashmageddon Festival, opening for thrash legends EXCITER. We'd like to thank everyone who came down to see us and also Taylor, the band DREAD, and everyone at Nightforce for bringing Ravage back to the Southwest and having the balls to put on a festival that only featured thrash and heavy metal bands.

The show was not without it's problems - I have to extend our apologies to fans who may have been expecting a longer set from us. As you might have guessed, a number of delays in the show, sound board issues and a bullshit local sound ordinance curfew forced us to have to cut our set time in half. Exciter also had their set cut short as a result of this foolishness! After a long flight we at least would have liked to have played our full set for you guys - but those sorts of things tend to happen at festival shows and hopefully we can make it up to you with a future headlining appearance.

On the bright side, we were impressed to see so many dedicated young thrashers and supporters of the New Mexico underground metal scene turn out to the show and it was cool to have a chance to hang out with Exciter and see some of the best underground thrash bands from around the Southwest US. We also got a chance to sample some local Roswell-style “alien” beer - which was very cool. Exciter closed out the night with ‘Long Live The Loud’ so everyone left in a good mood before we had to catch a super-early flight back to Massachusetts - where we found out all the drinking water in our area was contaminated... strange weekend it was... so it goes...but weirdness, catastrophes and disasters always seem to follow this band around...so we are getting used to it. We hope to return to the Southwest for a full tour some time soon. Till then, we are playing more local shows, including an upcoming appearance in Stoughton, MA on May 14th with MELIAH RAGE side project, BAD KARMA, and we are in the process of refining new songs for eventual recording. Until the next update, rock hard and ravage in peace!”
