Motor Trend has issued the following report from K.S. Wang:

Sitting in a hotel room in the heart of Hollywood is metal god ROB HALFORD, frontman of the Grammy-winning heavy metal band JUDAS PRIEST. He's in town to promote the 30th anniversary of the seminal metal album British Steel.

It's hard to believe it's been three decades, but since then IRON MAIDEN has sold more than 30 million albums and established itself as an icon in the world of metal.

Dressed in the metal uniform, Halford sports black aviator sunglasses, black pants, black shoes, and a black T-shirt that prominent shows off his two matching dragon tattoos, one on each arm. The one non-black item is the recognizable razorblade on the album cover of British Steel that hangs on a chain around his neck.

Talking to Halford, there is a dichotomy at hand. Known for his four-octave range, he treats his voice with the dedication of an opera singer rather than a rock star. He's a rock star who is sober, does not drink, and has a strict philosophy on tattoos. When he is not at his home in England, this down-to-earth god of what non-metalheads might consider the rather dark world of heavy metal lives in the Valley of the Sun.

Although he lives in Phoenix, nearby Tempe is where Halford bought his daily driver, a V8-powered piece of American steel - the luxurious and roomy 2006 Cadillac DTS, which he rates a perfect 10.

"I love my Cadillac, just because it's everything that I want from a car," Halford says. "First of all, it's got the speed, the power, and Northstar engine. And it's a great ride; it's got all the gadgets in that I need - like GPS and Sirius XM satellite radio."
