LimeWire Music Blog reports:

Legendary PANTERA / SUPERJOINT RITUAL / DOWN vocalist Phil Anselmo got up close and personal with his beloved Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints recently — and even got to interview tight end Jeremy Shockey.

Anselmo, a New Orleans native, interviewed Shockey, hoisted the Lombardi Trophy and tried on retired Saint Michael “Beer Man” Lewis’ Super Bowl Ring. Lewis and Anselmo attended the same high school. Anselmo, a diehard Saints fan, also coached a team of local kids against a squad helmed by Lewis in a United Way charity football game.

The Shockey interview will air on the Louisiana Sunday Kickoff and will be posted on Anselmo’s label site, Housecore Records.

Anselmo, who’s also a huge boxing fan, will be in Detroit tomorrow (June 30th) for a fundraiser for Kronk Gym, which was founded by legendary trainer Emanuel Steward.

Musically, Anselmo will play a few dates in England and Spain with Down next month and is finishing up a new ARSON ANTHEM album that will come out this fall, according to our friends over at his publicity house, Adrenaline PR.
