41,250 Fans Attend Heavy MTL 2010 - Third Edition Confirmed For 2011

North America’s premier metal and hard-rock event, Heavy MTL 2010, was held this past weekend (July 24th/25th) at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec. Organizers have issued the following post-show statement:

On Saturday, July 24th, just after Megadeth's incredible performance in front of over 20 000 fans at Parc Jean-Drapeau, Heavy MTL announced a surprise show on Twitter and Facebook. In a matter of minutes, the news spread like wildfire, especially via the Heavy MTL iPhone application. Fans aware of the news quickly made their way to Metropolis at the end of Heavy MTL's first day. Megadeth got on stage at around 2:00 a.m. and delivered an amazing performance in front of nearly 1,500 fans that were lucky enough to get into the venue. Heavy MTL is proud to have offered this once-in-a-lifetime event to its fans who have come from near and far.
Having welcomed over 41,250 fans and 34 bands for two full days of blaring music, there is little doubt that Heavy MTL has raised the bar yet again. See you in 2011 for another edition of Heavy MTL!"
