RockAAA.com has issued the following report:

SLIPKNOT / STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor has promised fans an “unbelievable” surprise if his charity single makes Christmas Number One a week on Sunday.

'XM@$' goes on sale on Sunday December 12th, and could keep Simon Cowell’s X-Factor gameshow off the top spot for a second year. In 2010 a mass public campaign put RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE in the seasonal slot, keeping Cowell’s karaoke champion out of the limelight.

Taylor tells Paul Anthony of Rock AAA’s partner in noise, Rock Radio: “I’m actually planning something right now. I have to check the logistics to make sure. But if we get to number one I’ve got something very special in the works for the fans. It’s going to be unbelievable.”

Taylor has decided to support the Teenage Cancer Trust by donating all proceeds to their fund. He says: “My grandmother had cancer, and luckily she got over it. But teenage cancer is probably overlooked a little bit. It’s scary enough being a teenager – struggling with an illness like that has got to be terrifying. So it made sense to use the proceeds to help as many people as I could. Any little help I can give is icing on the cake.”

And Taylor would enjoy wiping the smile off Cowell’s face, the way RATM did last year. He says: “If I said everything I thought about X-Factor, Idol and all that crap, we’d have to end this interview.”

Rock AAA and Rock Radio will be pushing hard to support Taylor’s chart attack, which starts on Sunday and ends the following Saturday.Stay tuned for more details of our interactive campaign. Cowell will be spending stacks of cash to reserve the top spot for his latest creation, who’ll be announced at the weekend – but we proved last year that he can be beaten, and we can do it again.

The X-Factor will rake in up to £25m in advertising revenue in the coming three days, none of which will go to any charity. Meanwhile, media watchdogs Ofcom are investigating the show for illegal product placement after presenter Dermot Leary encouraged viewers to buy songs by Cowell’s guest stars. Ofcom say they have received hundred of complaints about the show this year.
