Eye Of Sin, the debut full-length album from black metallers PROFANE PRAYER will be released on January 16th through Orkestral Promenade Productions in CD format, and Norway’s Misantrof ANTIRecords for free download. Recorded during 2008 and 2009 at the Basement Studios in Athens, Eye Of Sin, which, according to the band, is “a piece of fresh, cold, “in your face” black metal in the vein of CARPATHIAN FOREST, DARKTHRONE and IMPALED NAZARENE,” was engineered by Mark Cross and George Bokos (ROTTING CHRIST) and produced by Bokos together with Profane Prayer.

Formed in 2005 by guitarist G, vocalist The Saint (HORDES OF DECAY) and drummer/guitarist THC (HORDES OF DECAY), Profane Prayer’s lineup now includes Sick Mind on bass. Drawing its early inspiration from traditional Black Metal bands, Profane Prayer has spent the intervening years developing its own sound and cutting its teeth on the local scene, regularly playing live at Greek venues and clubs.

Eye Of Sin is not the first collaboration between Profane Prayer and Misantrof ANTIRecords, the label formed and headed by Carpathian Forest bass player Daniel Vrangsinn. The band’s first demo Bloodred Fullmoon, originally released in 2006, was re-released on Misantrof ANTIRecords in 2009, and the band also contributed the opening track on Misantrof’s Holy Fucking ANTIChristmas Volume II in 2009. Commenting on their decision to once again work with Misantrof, the band said: “Misantrof ANTIRecords is a 100% nonprofit organization, home to bands like EPISODE 13, NIERTY, AVSTAND, VRANGSINN, amongst others. Music released by Misantrof is free for everyone to download and share. Having successfully collaborated with Misantrof and Daniel in the past, Profane Prayer remains true to the spirit of the label and is happy to be releasing the full album, in high quality MP3 free for everyone to download.”

On February 5th, Profane Prayer will be supporting IMPALED NAZARENE at An Club, Athens, in what will be the first of many shows in 2011 to promote the album.

'Eye Of Sin' can be downloaded free, together with all the artwork here.
