MARTY FRIEDMAN Pays Tribute To GARY MOORE With FIREWIND In Tokyo

The website for former MEGADETH guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN has issued the following update:
"Marty will appear in two major TV commercial campaigns in Japan beginning March 15th! The first is FANTA and will begin with a press conference which will be broadcast live on TV as well as the internet. The brand new commercial, will be debuted soon after. More details at Fanta.jp.The second commercial, which is completely unrelated to the above news, will make its first broadcast on April 1st. We can not announce the name of the company at this time, but if you are in Japan anytime in 2011, you will be unable to miss this one.
In other TV news, also on April 1st Marty will appear on the 2011 Sora Mimi Awards. Part 1 will be broadcast at 24:20 Friday night April 1 on TV Asahi and part 2 the same time on Friday night April 8. The long running weekly hit show has been a staple of Japanese TV for several years, and Marty is a regular guest on the annual awards broadcasts.
In other news, Marty made a guest appearance with his friend Gus G. at his FIREWIND show in Tokyo. They did an impromptu tribute to the great GARY MOORE. Marty played 'Black Rose' by himself and then Gus and the band joined him for 'Parisienne Walkways'. There was talk of Gus returning the favor at one of Marty`s upcoming Greece shows this May.
Gus is an amazing player and guy, and we at the site all wish him the best of success with OZZY OSBOURNE.
The same day in Tokyo, Marty also played two of his most recent songs in an All-Star PRS event including Japanese legend Kyoji Yamamoto, Orianthi, Paul Reed Smith and his band and many more PRS players. It was a great welcome for Marty into the world of PRS.
