According to 3News.co.nz, German hard rock legends the SCORPIONS have been given a big boost as they wrap up work on what is to be their swansong album to fans - their biggest hit will feature in the new Rock Of Ages movie.

Director Adam Shankman has revealed he has added the band's ‘Rock Me Like a Hurricane’ to the collection of 1980s rock classics that are part of the Broadway musical, which he is turning into a film with a little help from Tom Cruise and Russell Brand.

In a Twitter.com post over the weekend, Shankman writes, "script gets better and better. New song mashups sound amazing. Added rock you like a hurricane to movie. It's AWESOME!!!"

Other rock anthems like POISON's ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’, FOREIGNER's ‘I Wanna Know What Love Is’, WHITESNAKE's ‘Here I Go Again’ and JOURNEY's ‘Don't Stop Believin'’ all appear in the show - and will transfer to the movie musical, which is scheduled for release next summer - just months after the Scorpions release their final album.
