The Big Four: Live From Sofia, Bulgaria DVD and Blu-ray, containing footage of the June 22nd, 2010 Sonisphere cinecast from the Sofia, Bulgaria leg of the touring rock festival featuring the Big Four of 1980s thrash metal — METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX — was RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) certified Double Platinum in the US earlier this year for sales in excess of 200,000 copies.

The band's were presented with plaques for the certification on Saturday (April 23rd) around the Big Four show at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Check out a photo of the presentation below:

The metal event of the year occurred Saturday, April 23rd as the Big Four of '80s thrash metal took the stage at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA in front of over 50,000 raging metalheads!

After suffering a spider bite a few months ago and being forced to miss numerous live dates the first time in his career, Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman returned to the stage last night. EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt filled in for Slayer's main set, but Hanneman joined the band on stage for their two-song encore which included 'South Of Heaven' and 'Angel Of Death'.
