KING KOBRA released their self-titled comeback album on April 15th in Europe, it will hit North American store shelves on May 5th.

Metal Assault's Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal has issued a new interview with drummer Carmine Appice (King Kobra, OZZY OSBOURNE, VANILLA FUDGE, TED NUGENT). The following is an excerpt:

Q: What can people expect from the new King Kobra album?

A: "I would call it a kickass, good time, high energy rock record."

Q: You guys are doing an album after such a long time. How did this reunion come about?

A: "Well, it came about by accident really. I was visiting my engineer friend named Pat Regan. I went to see him and Michael Phillips mentioned to me, 'Why don't you do a King Kobra record for Frontiers Records?' I thought that was an interesting idea, so I talked to the manager I was working with at the time about what kind of deal he can get for us. Then I went after signing the members, all of the original guys. Everybody wanted to do it except that I wasn't going to call Mark/Marcie Free because this is a heavy rock album. I wasn't going to do a whimpy album, so why bother to call him. That's the kind of music Marcie Free wants to do these days. It's kind of weird to have a sex change guy as your lead singer."
