Swedish progressive death metal band DESCEND have announced more details around their new album, Through The Eyes Of The Burdened, due out via Supernova Records on May 18th. The artwork below was created by Travis Smith (NEVERMORE, OPETH, KATATONIA).

Through The Eyes Of The Burdened tracklisting:

'Ascend To Obscurity'

'Among The Ruins'

'A Sudden Sense Of Clarity'

'The Life Delusion'

'A Peice Of Knowledge Absent'

'Disambiguous'

'Through The Eyes Of The Burdened'

'Mask Of Demise'

'Descend To Oblivion'

"We really wanted to make an album that feels like a unity", guitarist and founding member Andreas Lindström explains about debut release Through the Eyes of the Burdened. "I think we managed to make music that is dynamic and keeps the listener interested, while not losing the impact in the songs".

"We all love metal", drummer Jonathan Persson says, "but at the same time we love to experiment and take influences from other styles as well".

The album was recorded at Escape Route Studios in Essex, UK, and the studio was the perfect choice for the band to get the album done. The production is excellent and every member is playing at the top of their game.

"I booked us there since I figured it would be good for us to go out of Sweden to record", says bassist Justin Biggs. "It kind of took us out of our comfort zone, which was a good thing. We could really focus on just making the record while we were there."

Descend's new single, 'The Life Delusion', is currently streaming at this location. The single artwork, by Emil Maxen, can be seen below:
