Toronto rocker DANKO JONES has launched the first episode of The Official Danko Jones Podcast, a series that will feature different themes and topics along the way. Frontman and namesake Danko describes the first installment below:

"Hope you enjoy this new series of podcasts I’ll be doing. It’s simply me reading articles I’ve been writing in various rock and metal magazines for the last six years. This inaugural podcast has me reading an article I wrote for Close-Up Magazine, Sweden’s premier metal magazine, from last year. It’s officially called Making A Go Of Black Metal. Hope you enjoy it."

As previously reported, Danko Jones and Bad Taste Records have announced the band will re-release their latest full-length album, Below The Belt, on June 21st as a deluxe reissue featuring two new bonus tracks, titled 'Guest List Blues' and 'Rock N Roll Proletariat'. Also included in the newly expanded CD version is the entire acclaimed Below the Belt music video trilogy.

Under the terms of a new distribution deal, MRI will handle distribution of the deluxe reissue in the US through Sony/RED. Danko Jones is scheduled to perform at the Rock on the Range Festival on Friday, May 20th before the band heads overseas for a round of European festival dates in June. Additional U.S. summer tour dates will be announced shortly.

Danko Jones previously issued an EPK discussing the above-mentioned video trilogy - 'Full Of Regret', 'Had Enough' and 'I Think Bad Thoughts' - for latest album, Below The Belt. Actors that appeared in the video - Elijah Wood (Lord Of The Rings trilogy, The Hobbit), Ralph Macchio (The Karate Kid, ABC television’s Dancing With The Stars), Jena Malone (Into The Wild, The Messenger, Sucker Punch) - and directors the Diamond Brothers comment on the making of the trilogy in the video below:

Other actors that appeared in the trilogy include Selma Blair (Cruel Intentions, Hellboy), Mike Watt (Minutemen/Firehose/The Stooges), Frank Drank (Capitol One Viking), and Art Hsu (Crank: High Voltage, The FP). MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy also makes an appearance.
