Dutch melodic metal band EDGE OF SERENITY have announced that drummer Ben Schepers has joined the band.

Singer Wietz Halma states: "From the moment we played the first song it was clear that Ben was the man for the job. He is talented, experimental and very technical in his playing. And he does all this while always having a monstrous groove! Exactly what we need! It already feels like he's been in the band for years!"

Guitarist Michael Hansen says: "Ben will kick off the recording of the new Edge Of Serenity album as soon as possible. Drum lines are being written and pre-recordings are currently being made, so the process is definitely speeding up."

The second Edge Of Serenity album will be "heavier, faster, groovier and more melodic and technical" than the band's 2009 debut, The Chaos Theory. The, yet untitled, album will be released worldwide in 2011. The band will play a lot of shows that year to support the release.
