Metal Assault recently conducted a detailed interview with MAYAN frontman / EPICA guitarist Mark Jansen. He discusses the band's name and the Mayan culture, guest vocalists that have performed on the debut album, touring plans, his desire of writing the score for a movie some day, handling double duties for Epica and Mayan, how his creative urge for Mayan will help Epica, and the benefits of having Epica members in the Mayan line-up.

As previously reported, MaYaN have released their new video, for the Quarterpast album track, 'War On Terror'. Check out the video below:

Quarterpast was released in North America on July 12th, and in Europe on May 20th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The tracks ‘Celibate Aphrodite’ and ‘Drown The Demon’ can be heard on the band’s Facebook page.

Quarterpast features guest vocalists Epica’s Simone Simons, Floor Jansen (Revamp, ex-After Forever), Henning Basse (Sons Of Seasons), and soprano Laura Macrì. The album also features Epica guitarist/composer Mark Jansen, Epica drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek, and Epica guitarist Isaac Delahaye.
