CRYPTOPSY Singer Matt McGachy Launches THE ERA OF Side Project

THE ERA OF is a four piece progressive rock band from Montreal, Quebec, comprised of members of established bands including CRYPTOPSY, A TEXAS FUNERAL, and DOWNLINE.
The quartet has been described as a combination of 30 SECONDS TO MARS, A PERFECT CIRCLE and RUSH. They have blended epic build ups, soaring choruses and uplifting rock outs into their own eclectic style.
The debut album, Pelican Beach, explores the impact of an apocalyptic disaster through the eyes of different individuals. Although music is the driving force behind their creative process, The Era Of has expanded upon their narrative concept by writing a compilation of short stories to be released alongside the album. These stories were conceived to enrich and enhance the listener's experience.
A message from the band states: "From the beginning, our close friend Jason Duchene from Raw Cut Media was always filming The Era Of band. Thanks to his relentless determination, we now have countless hours of us jamming, recording, mixing and hanging out during the Pelican Beach sessions. This is the first video from that footage. It is the official introduction to The Era Of band, and in 90 seconds you get to meet the band, hear a clip from 'A Haunted Skyline', see some of the objects we used in the book and watch the band live."
