Chicago's DIRGE WITHIN has announced a partnership with Rocket Science Ventures/THC: Music, who will release the band’s sophomore LP on April 10th, 2012 in North America via Sony RED.

“Myself and the rest of the guys in DW are very excited about this new chapter in the DW story, as well as our new partnership with Rocket Science Music. It seemed like a perfect fit, and I can't wait to see what we accomplish together in this new endeavor.” states says Dirge Within frontman Jeremy Genske. “It's gonna be a whole new ride. New team, new atmosphere, and a new vibe. Get ready!”

Dirge Within will be entering Mercenary Studios in Zion, IL beginning today, December 5th, to record their sophomore full length release (yet to be titled and scheduled for an April 2012 release). They’re slated to be in the studio from December through the end of January. The production team will consist of Scott Creekmore (Engineer) and Ari Mihalopoulos (Producer) producing alongside Dirge Within.

Also, Dirge Within is announcing the departure of lead guitar player Matt Szlachta, who parted ways with the band in October to continue focus on his passion for teaching guitar to his students and for other personal reasons.

“There's no bad blood at all, man. We're all still good buds and very close. His head and heart just weren't in it anymore, and he wanted to go back to teaching. He really loves it, and that's where he felt he had to be,” states Jeremy.

With the departure of Szlachta, Dirge Within is proud to announce the addition of new lead guitar player Chuck Wepfer, who will make his debut on the new release. Check out a video of Chuck below:

The new release will also be the (full album) debut of drummer Frankie Harchut and bassist Jeff Paulick (bassist/vocals LAZARUS A.D.) who has been filling on bass duties on tour with DW.

“I am very excited about the new songs we've written for this new album, and that people will be able to check out my style of playing a little more. We worked our asses off writing these new songs, a lot of long nights, and I'm personally stoked to have our fans hear 'em. I really think they're gonna be into it,” stated drummer Frankie Harchut about the new album.

“The songs are heavier, smarter, and more melodic in parts. Some are even a little slower! There were no rules when we were writing at all. No holds barred. Whatever came out, came out. And I think it's gonna make a really good well rounded metal album,” added Jeremy.
