DEEP PURPLE - Newfoundland Concert Cancelled
January 14, 2012, 12 years ago
According to Thewesternstar.com, organizers have cancelled DEEP PURPLE's February 3rd live date at the Pepsi Centre in Corner Brook, Newfoundland
Slow advance ticket sales are strongly suspected to be behind the cancellation, though The Western Star was unable to get confirmation of the reason from either concert promoter, Paul Mercs Concerts, or from officials at the Pepsi Centre.
The announcement was made via a short press release issued by Paul Mercs Concerts late Friday afternoon. The release simply stated the concert date in Corner Brook has been cancelled and purchased tickets could be refunded at the Pepsi Centre box office.
Starting in early February, Deep Purple have scheduled 16 dates across Canada beginning in St. John’s, NL and ending in Vancouver, BC, making it ‘the heaviest winter on record’.
