As previously reported, American Idol judges - AEROSMITH's Steven Tyler, Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest - will be guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Friday, January 20th.

In an update, Steven Perry will perform on the episode, joined by Aerosmith band mate, guitarist Joe Perry, and Randy Jackson.

The Tonight Show airs on NBC TV at 11:35 EST; check local listings for details.

The American Idol judges spoke with Access Hollywood about the upcoming season which is set to return with a two-night event showcasing the nation’s most extraordinary talent Wednesday, January 18th and Thursday, January 19th. Auditions will continue with a special, extended primetime broadcast of American Idol Sunday, January 22 (10:00 PM ET/7:00 PM PT) on FOX.

Tyler revealed that behind the scenes, his life has changed since appearing on Idol, despite his superstar rock ‘n’ roll status.

“(Last season) it wasn’t really accepted up front (with the rock community), mostly from my own bandmates because they didn’t know what was going on with the Aerosmith thing at the end. But it’s brought younger kids to our music anyway,” he said, noting Aerosmith sales last year were up 260 percent.

Additionally, the rocker said it’s been hard for him to now step out in public.

“It’s like, ‘Really?… I can’t go anywhere anymore,” he said.
