Last week, RIOT founder and guitarist Mark Reale was been admitted to a San Antonio, Texas hospital in critical condition due to complications of Crohn's disease. Due to complications arising from treatment for Mark's illness, he remains hospitalized in San Antonio and is not healthy enough to appear at upcoming shows as scheduled. Mike (Flyntz; guitar), Tony (Moore; vocals), Bobby (Jarzombek; drums) and Don (Van Stavern; bass) have, at the strong urging of Mark's family, decided to perform the shows without Mark on guitar.

A new update on Reale's condition issued by his webmaster reads as follows:

"Dear Fans,

When I went to see Mark today, I talked with his nurse (pray for them too) she was nice enough to give me a medical term of Mark’s conditions. Mark had a Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and is why he’s still in a coma since January 11th, 2012 when he was rushed to the hospital.

Mark is also fighting several other critical conditions but is getting the very best here in San Antonio from gifted and talented doctors.

Please continue to keep Mark in your thoughts and prayers, I continue everyday reading them to Mark! God hears all of us, ask for HIS goodness to heal Mark.

If you would like to write a prayer that will be delivered personally by myself to Mark's bedside, please click here."

As previously reported, after a killer show at BB Kings in New York City, Riot's next scheduled show January 19th in West Springfield, VA at Jaxx was cancelled. When the band arrived at the venue today they were informed by the venue, that the venue did not have their permits in place to have a show that evening. Riot would like to apologize to all their fans and hope to make up the show in the near future.

Riot's show in Rochester, NY tonight (January 20th) will go on as scheduled, as well as their appearance on the 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise - January 23rd - January 27th.

The following special live report and photos by BraveWords.com's Mark Gromen were posted earlier:

Sadly, founding guitarist Mark Reale was unable to perform with the now Texas-based band at BB Kings in New York last night (January 18th) due to complications of Crohn's disease. How strange, that a former Long Island institution, Riot, would return home to the Tri-State area, minus its founder! Through all the various incarnations of the band over the last three decades, this might be the only time they played without him, un-Reale indeed. While an early barrage of new material, mixed with the Thundersteel era, it was the culminating order that kicked old school (ie, "over the hill gang's") ass, while many a youngster was across town, checking out GHOST.

The band - Mike Flyntz on guitar, Tony Moore on vocals, Bobby Jarzombek on drums and Don Van Stavern on bass - performed the following setlist:

'Narita'

'Fight Or Fall'

'On Your Knees'

'Metal Soldiers'

'Riot'

'Fire Down Under'

'Johnny's Back'

'Wings Are For Angels'

'Sign Of The Crimson Storm'

'Still Your Man'

'Outlaw'

'Flight Of The Warrior'

'Road Racin'

'Warrior'

Encore:

'Swords And Tequila'

'Thundersteel'
