MetalHangar18.com has issued an interview with legendary singer BLAZE BAYLEY (WOLFSBANE, ex-IRON MAIDEN). An excerpt follows:

Q: Do you remember anything from your visit in Bulgaria with Iron Maiden back in 1995?

A: "Yes, it was insane, really crazy. The fans there are really lovely so I am very excited about going back there with my own band and with the new album: The King Of Metal.

Q: What do you think – does the audience accept you as a solo performer and not just like “the ex-vocalist of Iron Maiden”?

A: "I will always be the ex-vocalist from Iron Maiden, but I knew that before I started. It is the same with KIS, every fan knows all the previous members of the band and that is the same with the Iron Maiden fans. I think Iron Maiden is the most important heavy metal bands of the world so it is something that I am very proud of. But it is 14 years later now. I have made a lot of great music that I believe in and I believe that The King Of Metal is going to show people that I am an artist in my own right."

DJ Blackdiamond of Metal Shock Finland has issued an exclusive interview with Blaze, recorded during the recording of new material in a studio in Italy.

When discussing the recording of the album, Blaze said, “I don’t like to spend a lot of time in the studio, I don’t feel it’s a very creative environment. I like to spend most of my time on an album in the writing process and the composing. I feel that’s the bit that really counts. I’m always thinking of the audience, the fans and how I’m going to perform the songs live.”

When asked if Blaze could give any ideas what the new album will sound like he said: “It’ll be a bit different to what I’ve done before because I’m producing it. There will be a lot of heavy metal as you would expect from a Blaze Bayley album. We decided to have no rules, if we feel something is appropriate to sing or play, we will, it’s all about the vibe and passion. I’m very hopeful it will turn out to be my best work.”
