Originating from Johannesburg, South Africa metal/rock band MISERICORD (formed in 1997) with surviving founding members, Ralf Globisch and Jason Giacoppo have collaborated with metal legends Andy La Rocque (KING DIAMOND) and Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES) creating what is a power house of heavy fusion and metal groove tunes.

The music for this was recorded in the fall of 2009, but without any vocals to fill in and four years passing, Jason Giacoppo contacted Sonic Train Studios in 2011, ran by guitar extraordinaire Andy La Rocque (King Diamond). The intention was to mix and find a suitable voice to lay over the music. Andy was off to play a reunion show with At The Gates and asked Tomas Lindberg if he’d be interested in the project. Very thankfully Tomas was keen and a year later after a gazillion emails, the recording kicked off in April 2012. Jason flew up to Sweden and help guide where any direction was needed, lyrics were edited and melodies were all mixed in studio, letting the creative process take control as well.

"Was a really amazing experience to see such legends at work," Giacoppo says. "Extremely fluid process for people who’ve only really listened to the tracks for a few weeks, just shows the professionalism."

Watch for the release later this year.

Misericord have played with the likes of THE HAUNTED in South Africa on the One Kill Wonder tour, along with gigs on same bills with bands such as KONKHRA and CARCASS. The only official release for Misericord was 2006's Another End.

Misericord is:

Tomas Lindberg - vocals

Ralf Globisch - guitars

Jason Giacoppo - guitars

Nick Gibbs - bass

Ralph Margo - drums
