Irish folk metallers DARKEST ERA have issued the following update:

“Darkest Era is seeking individuals interested in the vacant bass player position following the departure of David (DJ) Lindsay.

The band is ideally looking for someone who shares the band’s drive and ambition, has good gigging and writing experience and a strong vocal capability (for backing harmonies). Anyone interested should also have their own good quality gear and be available for regular international travel that could significantly cut into your regular day job.

Aside from that, an availability to attend rehearsals every Sunday alternating between Belfast and Enniskillen is a must.

If interested please send an e-mail to darkesteraband@gmail.com.”

Darkest Era recently released a limited-edition vinyl version of the band’s debut album, The Last Caress Of Light, via High Roller Records. The release includes all eight tracks from the CD version of the album along with three bonus tracks taken from the band’s now sold out Oak Sessions EP, which was originally released in 2010.

The release is limited to just 500 copies of which 350 are available on double mint vinyl and 150 on black vinyl. It includes a full colour gatefold cover and 4-page insert.

Guitarist, Ade Mulgrew, said: "Over a year on we’re still really pleased with the album and we’re delighted that its finally going to be available on vinyl. The artwork is perfect for vinyl packaging and its cool that we were able to do something special by adding The Oak Sessions recordings to it too."
