TRIXTER guitarist Steve Brown is featured in a new interview with Classic Rock Revisited founder Jeb Wright. An excerpt is available below:

Jeb: New Audio Machine, and I’m not just saying this because I’m talking to you, is the best album Trixter has ever released.

Steve: "I agree with you on that. We have melded the first and second albums and taken it to another level. We haven’t put out a record in close to twenty years. We have been getting a lot of feedback where people are saying, 'It doesn’t sound like you guys have missed a beat. It sounds like you never even took a break.' I think that is really cool to hear. As a band, we got really excited making this album. We knew we had great songs like 'Drag Me Down', 'Tattoos & Misery' and 'Dirty Love'. I knew we had some really strong cuts but, as we kept going, we wrote 'Get On It', 'Machine' and 'Ride'. They were the last three songs we wrote for the record. We also had some left over ideas and songs from previous bands. We decided that whatever songs made this album that they needed to be full on, kick ass Trixter songs. We banged out those last three songs in a matter of two weeks. I think you can really hear it in the songs, how much we wanted to make this album."

Jeb: You had some songs co-written by some famous people. Let’s start with SKID ROW.

Steve: "Snake (Sabo) and Rachel (Bolan) from Skid Row…those guys have been brothers of ours for over twenty-five years. We met Snake, Rachel and Jon Bon Jovi back in 1986 and we have been friends ever since. We were playing gigs with Skid Row before Sebastian Bach was in the band. We have a strong history with them.

'Walk With A Stranger' was a song we used to do back in 1988-89 and we wanted to cut it for the first record but our producer said that we had better songs. For better or worse, it never got done. When we were rolling ahead with this record, we decided that we would include some songs for our Jersey crowd, as we played that back in the Jersey clubs.

Snake and Rachel wrote that song back in the day for Skid Row but it never worked for them. I heard it and knew, while it would not make a great Skid Row song, it would make a killer Trixter song. We did our own version and we have been getting great reviews. I think you can search it on Youtube and hear the original, rough demo. We dropped it down a bit to bring it into the realm of normal singing range, where they had it up in that screaming realm. It really came out great."

Featuring the band's original lineup, Trixter's new album New Audio Machine was produced and engineered by Chuck Alzakian and includes songwriting contributions by SKID ROW's Snake Sabo and Rachel Bolan and STYX' Glen Burtnik.

Trixter frontman Pete Loran commented, "After all these years playing and recording with this band, I would say I am most proud of this record!"

Brown added, "New Audio Machine is everything Trixter was and everything we are now. I can't wait for the world to hear it!"

Trixter is: Pete Loran (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Steve Brown (lead guitar/harmonica/backing vocals), P.J. Farley (bass/backing vocals) and Gus Scott (drums/percussion/backing vocals).
